Cooperation with GTZ in Northern Laos

My first trip to Laos was in 1999, and 2000 we established a Cooperation with GTZ (German Technical Cooperation)in Northern Laos, Provinces of Luang Namtha and Bokeo especially in the education and health sector.


Construction of Schoolbuildings since 2001
(One-Room Schools: 9 x 7 m, each additional “room has the same size, each “one-room” will be divided into two classrooms, the same applies to the kindergarten constructions)

Emergency health fund for Akha students, teachers and children (managed by Claudia Polzer)
Financing salaries of teachers as needed and requested by DEO, managed my Claudia P.
Schoolbooks for ATCA schools, several thousand have been printed and sent to Muang Sing
Notebooks, pencils, colour pencils, other school material for the ATCA schools
Clothing for needy children and other aid according to the actual circumstances



ATCA Fund

Kindergartensupply for Nalae 2003-04
Rice supply for feeding program Muang Long school (c/o Mr. Kohl) 2002-2003
Teachers’ salaries as requested by DEO Nalae
Sports equipment for all ATCA schools – and not only
Emergency aid for the poorest 141 persons in 13 villages of Mom subdistrict– (c/o Elizabeth)
Clothing and medicine for Nam Nyu boarding home c/o Mr. Jaehn (2004) etc.


Help for Orphan-School Ban Lao, Nalae, for all 155 students:

ATCA and partnership with Friedrich-Stoltze Schule Königstein
we were able to offer several tons of rice, food baskets, school uniforms, every day clothing, blankets, futons, mattresses, underwear, cooking equipment, plates, cups, etc., garden tools, school equipment including books, note books and ball pens, 2006 in preparation for the new orphanage in Nalae, beds and equipment, new school uniforms, equipment for the boys

All other ATCA projects in Laos are not included in this report.
