ATCA believes that ecology is the business of all who claim Earth as home, a place where decay and destruction are replaced with healing and restoration, where sickness is replaced by health and life. Our Earth is battered and abused due to greed, indifference, and ignorance. The indigenous peoples of the world, testimonies of our past, bearers of ancient cultures, are on the way towards extinction, together with thousands of species of plants and animals.

ATCA believes that all people are related, that we are one another life. The greatest life is the greatest sharing, not dominating and exploitating each others, but mutual respect and love.

ATCA believes in global solidarity. Solidarity means compassion. Compassion means that we are touched by the needs of others and are moved to become involved in their lives. Involvement is the ability to see that the luxury of the few is the starvation and death of many. The natural resources of our mother earth are meant for the whole human family. The world is not to be divided into a First, Second, and Third World. Therefore, we are asked to reduce our affluent lifestyle in order to share the anguish of the poor and the neglected. By doing a simple act to help someone in need, we will have begun to make a contribution to greater solidarity.

God gives life to flow between us as love and peace, as friendship and justice, as support and challenge, as celebrating together the joys of life and grieving together over its travails.

This is the cause that ATCA stands for and the reason for its existence: to bring the indigenous peoples back at the center of life and to serve as an artery in the unceasing interchange of life and love.
